When I was a child, my father would take me to that toy store after work. We’d walk through the aisles together, eyes wide with wonder, discovering new treasures and sharing moments of pure joy. Occasionally, he’d surprise me with something special to take home.
But we didn’t have a lot of money growing up. Those toy store trips often got us in trouble. My mom would worry about the money we spent, so my father and I developed a little ritual: we’d hide our new toys when we walked through the door. It became our secret—a small act of rebellion fueled by love and the simple happiness that toys brought us.
During those trips, my father and I would joke about opening our own toy store one day. A place where we could surround ourselves with everything cute and fun, where we wouldn’t have to hide our passion, and where we could share that joy with others.
May 2024: The Dream Becomes Reality
Fast forward several years to May 2024. An opportunity appeared that felt like destiny: the chance to buy Tokiya inside Super G Mart in Pineville.
My father and I looked at each other, remembering those childhood promises, and we knew—this was our moment.
We took the leap.
Today, Tokiya is more than a store. It’s the fulfillment of a promise made between a father and son in the aisles of a toy store. It’s a place where families can create their own memories, where collectors can find their next treasure, and where everyone is welcome to experience the joy of discovering something cute.
A Family Business, Built with Love
Tokiya is truly a family affair. My father works at the store most days, bringing his decades of love for toys and his warm smile to every customer. My mother joined us too, adding her care and dedication to everything we do.
Together, we’ve built something special—not just a business, but a community gathering place where everyone feels like family.
