Tokiya’s Back-to-School Community Drive: Small Supplies, Big Impact

As summer came to a close, we wanted to do more than help customers prepare for a new school year—we wanted to help local classrooms do the same.

From July 20 through August 8, 2025, Tokiya donated 50% of every school supply and stationery purchase to support teachers and students across our community. Every notebook, marker, folder, and pack of pencils purchased became part of something much bigger.

A Community That Came Together

One of our favorite things about Tokiya has always been the people who walk through our doors. Throughout the campaign, customers stopped by not just to shop, but because they wanted to help.

By the end of the drive, donation boxes were filled with classroom essentials including notebooks, folders, dry erase markers, tissues, paper towels, backpacks, pencils, crayons, and countless other supplies that teachers rely on every day.

Seeing those boxes fill up reminded us that even small purchases can create meaningful change when a community comes together.

Supporting Local Classrooms

The supplies collected during the drive were donated to Title I school teachers, helping stock classrooms with materials that are often purchased out of teachers’ own pockets.

All remaining supplies were donated to Classroom Central, allowing even more students throughout the Charlotte area to begin the school year with the tools they need to learn and succeed.

For many educators, these simple supplies remove one less obstacle from the classroom. We’re honored that our customers helped make that possible.

More Than “Everything Cute”

Our motto has always been Everything Cute, but to us that means more than the products on our shelves.

It means creating a welcoming place where people connect, celebrate, and support one another. Whether we’re attending local festivals, partnering with community organizations, or organizing donation drives like this one, we hope Tokiya becomes a place that gives back as much as it receives.

Thank You

To every customer who chose to participate, every teacher who welcomed our donations, and organizations like Classroom Central that help strengthen our community—thank you.

Your kindness turned a simple back-to-school promotion into something that will continue making a difference long after summer ended.

We can’t wait to share more community events, partnerships, and opportunities to give back in the months ahead.

Together, we’re building more than a store.

We’re building a community.
